Yourtutor hits Swan Hill

School students can access homework help  through the Yourtutor program, at the Swan Hill Library.

Primary and secondary students across the Swan Hill region can access free online help with their homework, through the Swan Hill Regional library.
Yourtutor connects students via the internet to qualified, expert tutors for assistance with homework, assignments, exam preparation and study questions.
Councils Manager Cultural Development and Libraries Camille Cullinan said the yourtutor service is immediate, professional, secure and anonymous.
"While the program is aimed at students from Grade 4 through to Year 12, it can also be used by TAFE students who may want someone to look over an essay and provide suggestions for improvement," Ms Cullinan said.
"The tutors on yourtutor have to go through an application and selection process and are qualified teachers paid by Tutoring Australasia."
Students can access the program through a link on the libraries website from
4 to 8pm during the school year, including all term holidays except Christmas.
Users of the yourtutor service need to be a Swan Hill Regional Library member. The library membership card number is required to log in to use the site.
The service is easy to access through a link on the Swan Hill Librarys website. It doesnt require any special program for use, just internet access and Adobe Flash Player.
"Students are also able to access the service after school from home or use the computers in the library," Ms Cullinan added.
"This is a great service for students who live out of town or whose parents are working, as yourtutor allows them to get help with homework after school.
The yourtutor service is provided by Tutoring Australasia and is currently available at more than 350 library services across Australia. It has been used by more than 100,000 students.
