Moira showcases fresh produce


The Sun Country on the Murray Food, Wine and Produce Group has been formed to allow  producers to showcase their local products.

 An ideal climate, enterprising producers, quality produce and a unique food and wine experience awaits visitors to the Moira Shire.
Located on the banks of the mighty Murray River, a relaxed lifestyle and friendly towns is only part of the attraction, the food is another.
Locals have long known about the amazing array of food and wine available but now the secret is out and word is spreading!
 Wine-makers, orchardists, cheese-makers and food producers have united and formed themselves the Sun Country on the Murray Food, Wine and Produce Group.
This committed group of producers have created their own brand and marketing material. As part of their promotional activities they have also showcased food and wine displays in Visitor Centres throughout the shire and products have even been promoted at premier events including the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.  
Working alongside restaurants and eateries, the group has also committed to creating exciting new menus featuring seasonal, local produce.
 With a website featuring an online store and links to The Farm Gate Trail, Slow Food Convivium, Meet the Makers and local recipes, the site is sure to give you a taste of what awaits.
Wendy Eva-Scott from The Flying Muffin said she was lucky to have been a business owner in the Moira Shire.
