Women to gather in Cohuna

The health and well being of rural women is the focus of the 22 Women on Farms Gathering which will be held in Cohuna during March.

Cohuna will be the place to be this March when rural women converge on the town for the 22nd Women on Farms Gathering.
The Gathering has become an Australian wide event focusing on the contribution women make to the agricultural industry.
Held on a weekend in a different rural location each year, the Gathering brings rural women together to learn new skills, share stories and reaffirm their place women in the agricultural sector.
Women have a significant role on farm and while things have been far from rosy over the last 10 years, an event like this offers women the chance to put their feet up and have a little me time.
Featuring a program packed with womens stories, local tours, entertainment, workshops, a church service and fine food, the gathering is an event not to be missed.
Organiser Lorraine Learmonth said the theme this year is Resilience Rural and Proud.
Our dairy farmers may have been hit hard by drought, water issues and prices but we will continue to grow and succeed. We are proud to be women in rural northern Victoria, Mrs Learmonth said.
With a focus on networking, shared experiences, skills improvement and personal
development, women of all ages and across all commodities will be well catered for.
Workshops include tai chi, skype training, women on boards, fire ready rural women, improving public speaking and jazz dance classes and key note speakers including Dr Megan McGee and a light hearted look at looking after yourself, entertainment is assured.
The Women on Farms Gathering is on Friday March 25 27. For more information contact Lorraine Learmonth This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
